Riverton Beachfront B&B

Riverton Location

For travellers to the southern regions, Riverton is a perfect night stop on the trip from Dunedin to Te Anau through the Southern Coastal route, or vice versa. We are a half hour drive from Invercargill, so it is a perfect distance for a drive from the airport or city. Two hours to Queenstown, a little less to Te Anau. We are a great stop before you carry on through on the Southern Scenic Route to explore the Catlins area.

The beach is the main attraction in the summer for most of our guests - whether just a walk or a swim, it draws everyone at some stage during their stay. There is a lovely playground close by for children, with a theme based around a pirate ship. There are cafés/restaurants, pubs serving meals, and cafés in the main street of the township.

The new museum, "Te Hikoi - Southern Journey", in Riverton township is an amazing place to visit as it provides a great snapshot look at the history of the area presented in an entertaining way. There are walks all around the area, fishing, swimming and surfing in the waters around the bay. There is a flaxmill dating back to early days of the settlement and many artists' studios and galleries to wander through.

There are several good eating places close by, which we are happy to recommend, all providing local food including delicious seafood dishes, where you are sure to be greeted by a warm welcome and great hospitality.

For events in Invercargill, our B&B provides a place to stay with a difference and a gorgeous view to wake up to.
